ECMH Consultants

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) is an effective strategy in supporting young children’s social and emotional development in early care and education settings.  (Gillman and Shahar, 2006).

The Division of Prevention and Behavioral Services offers early childhood mental health consultation as a free service and partnership with Delaware early childhood education programs-with a focus on children ages 2 through 5 and and on programs with a significant proportion of children who are assisted by the Purchase of Care program.  All consultants are licensed mental health professionals with experience in early care and education settings.  The commitment and collaboration of the center’s director and staff along with the child’s parents or caregivers is essential to a successful partnership.

For ECMHC services please contact Mary.Moor@state.de.us or (302) 256-9308
