Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children (deaeyc)
The Delaware Association for the Education of Young children (Deaeyc) is an affiliate of the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the leading membership association for those working with and on behalf of children from birth through age eight. Deaeyc operates numerous programs that help support early care providers in Delaware including T.E.A.C.H Early Childhood® Delaware and career advisement. Due to the positive feedback from the community around the benefits of salary supplement and compensation system, OEL remains committed to sustain programing that will support early learning educators and administrators in a career pathway. OEL has identified the evidence based Child Care WAGE$ Project as the new compensation system for the state.
Beginning in 2017, Deaeyc will begin to administer the Child Care WAGE$ Project. The Child Care WAGE$ Project will be funded through sustainability funds designated to the Office of Early Learning. T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education And Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® Delaware is a national program that addresses education compensation and retention issues in the ECE field. Teaching staff in Delaware Stars programs have priority access to T.E.A.C.H. scholarships. For more information, please visit their website.
