Programs that have applied and are accepted to Delaware Stars begin their quality improvement journey by “Starting with Stars”. Programs at this first level of participation in Delaware Stars are in good standing with the Office of Child Care Licensing and are working on required steps for orientation. In order to progress to star level 2, programs must complete the following:
- Creating a Plan for Action: Building on Quality– After joining Delaware Stars, all programs are required to attend this six-hour training. The training is divided into two 3 hour sessions. These trainings are scheduled quarterly throughout the state.
- Initial Technical Assistance Visit– Each program receives a Stars’ representative. Your technical assistant (TA) will support your program through all phases of your quality improvement journey.
- Quality Improvement Plan– Each program will put together a quality improvement plan (QIP) with their TA. This plan will be updated throughout your star level movement.
- Database Information Request Form– Once your program is a Star Level 2, this Database Form will help Delaware Stars get your program information into our database. Your TA can provide support, if needed. The database provides an easy way to update staff information, update QIPs, and request assessments.
